Claire believe’s that anyone can paint. Painting in community allows us to not only know our own hearts but to understand the hearts of our neighbors.
Meet Claire
Claire has been painting for over thirty years. She is trained in oil color under artist Dean Larson, who is a Professor at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and who exhibits regularly at the Triton Museum of Art, San Francisco.
Claire holds a Bachelor of Teaching (Elementary) from the University of Western Sydney and has taught art classes in Sydney, London and Los Angeles. She is passionate about community, belonging, and self-expression as a way to better know ourselves and our neighbors.
Claire is a volunteer for Food on Foot and also teaches regular “interview skills” classes to help support local Los Angeles community members to secure jobs so they can get and keep their housing.
Meet Claire’s Assistants
Sir Laurence Olivier (top) and Humphrey Bogart (bottom), both ragdoll kittles, receive lots of love from their West Hollywood neighbors and give lots of cuddles in return. Everybody in their apartment building knows their names and stops to say hello. They bring joy to everyone they meet. They also give Claire lots of laughs, falling asleep in unlikely poses and places.
